The Department of Information Systems integrates technology, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence with business through its programs in Management Information Systems (MIS). These STEM-designated programs prepare students for successful careers in enterprise systems, business analytics, cybersecurity, and AI-enabled decision making. Employers across a wide range of industries, including cybersecurity and IT services, retail, banking and financial services, e-commerce, energy, aviation, health care, government, and management consulting, actively seek MIS graduates. MIS professionals work closely with core business functions such as accounting, finance, marketing, supply chain, and manufacturing, contributing to dynamic, team-based, project-oriented initiatives that leverage data, secure information assets, and drive organizational innovation.
In addition to the College of Business requirements, a student entering or transferring into management information systems must have a minimum overall 2.0 GPA and to graduate, a management information systems major must have a minimum 2.5 GPA within the major specialization courses.
